Pandora, in Greek mythology means “gift,” “giver of all,” the one who bears all gifts. Pandora was granted many gifts, among which included beauty from Aphrodite, Athena gave her wisdom, music from Apollo and Hermes gave her the gift of eloquence.

Like the myth of Pandora’s Box, Pandora is the divine giver of hope, and no matter how many evils lurks the earth, disasters, catastrophes, illnesses, sadness and gloom, Hope still remains, the blessing of mankind.

The gift of music and dance is the central theme behind this event. Like Pandora, the one who bears all gifts, Tribal Fusion Belly dancer and Instructor, Natalie Phoenix has devoted her time, bearing her gifts, her talents, her experiences and passing knowledge to her students, giving them the chance to also create through music and dance and with the hope that through dance they will continue the passion.

Phoenix Dance Project consists of Natalie Phoenix and her students:

Anjanette Thomas, Katie Shiroma, Melissa Meakins, Mandy Jansen and Tani Sebro-Day. Their individual experiences in dance vary; some have been dancing for 10 years and some have just started earlier this year.  The collective of dancers has performed at two MEDAH (Middle Eastern Dance Artists of Hawaii) events so far.

Phoenix Dance Project, still forming its shape, will showcase their element of air and earth, light and darkness through tribal fusion belly dance performance at Camera Obscura on Saturday, September 11, 2010 (No Cover).

Thank you to Universal Art (Lana Saldania), Nephilim Halls and the Manifest. Thank you for your continued support and see you on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Manifest.
